World view

From Wikipedia,

A comprehensive world view (or worldview) is the fundamental cognitive orientation of an individual or society encompassing the entirety of the individual or society’s knowledge and point-of-view. A world view can include natural philosophy; fundamental, existential, and normative postulates; or themes, values, emotions, and ethics.[1] The term is a calqueof the German word Weltanschauung [ˈvɛlt.ʔanˌʃaʊ.ʊŋ] ( ), composed of Welt (‘world’) and Anschauung (‘view’ or ‘outlook’).[2] It is a concept fundamental to German philosophy and epistemology and refers to a wide world perception. Additionally, it refers to the framework of ideas and beliefs forming a global description through which an individual, group or culture watches and interprets the world and interacts with it.[3]

    • You are really showing yourself to be naive.
I’d venture that all Atheists do have philosophies or worldviews, and that these worldviews are “atheistic” in nature. But atheism is merely a statement of belief on a single question. It certainly does not qualify for the description you posted above.
If you want to discuss philosophies and worldviews, then discuss Secular Humanism, as that is how most atheists self-identify. They aren’t hiding in loopholes. I’ve never heard an atheist claim the don’t adhere to some sort of philosophy.
Honestly, you should take some time to really learn and understand these concepts before you start posting opinions about them.

  1. Atheism does not qualify as worldview by the very definition you posted (idiot).
It is not a “framework of ideas and beliefs forming a global description through which an individual, group or culture watches and interprets the world and interacts with it”.
So that is the second argument you’ve lost with me.

    • Ha! that is apologetic horse poop. that is how atheists conceal themselves from scrutiny so they can attack other people’s philosophies without having to observe the praxis of their own philosophy (which is not a philosophy) and they can’t be falsified by it. It is a loophole of logic and it is only true as an illegitimate artifice necessary for them to attack and not be attacked. It is completely invalid and arbitrary…

      • (sorry…posted this out of sync above)

  2. Literally, none of that content came from me. it was an atheist that told me that atheism is not a world view. the definition of worldview came from wikipedia. so what are you disagreeing with exactly, the other atheist? this is what I find so humorous about debating atheists, they can say anything they want and none of them have to agree with one another. They can criticize everyone and everything while not themselves revealing their thoughts or having a philosophy with a praxis they follow and can be falsified by. Atheism, in a way, is too vague to be falsified. Because it’s main premise is that god doesn’t exist. That is the only belief that all atheists must share.

  3. furthermore, atheism informs their every relationship and belief. so it is a world view. Their narrative doesn’t attach anything positive to god. and god is removed as a source of volition from their every concept, so atheism touches EVERYTHING in their perception of the world and how it works.
